🤓 SmartLayout™ and Label Options for Image Click

The Image Click lesson screen template has been updated with a range of new improvements to make creating content for courses easier than ever!

SmartLayout™

The SmartLayout™ flexible grid system gives you more control over how the Image Click screen is presented to your users.

Adjust the number of columns

The grid system provides up to 6 columns — simply drag a slider to adjust the number of columns in your layout.

Adjust the height of rows

Click and drag between rows to increase the height of all rows to display larger images.

Adjust the layout content in each modal

You can also fine-tune the layout for each individual modal containing the description for each clickable image. Display the image to the left, right, or display none at all. Drag columns to the left, or right to make the image larger, or even set it as a background.

Fit and fill image options

Images added to the Image Click screen no longer need to be cropped. Just add an image, and it fills the allocated space. If you want to show the entire image, toggle the image fit option.

New Label options

Choose to display labels under each image, on hover, or none at all.

🎉 Coassemble Reinvents the Wheel!

We've just dropped the hotly anticipated update to the wheel screen template for lessons!

What’s changed?

Wheel on mobile devices

The wheel is now visible on mobile devices. Gone is the old accordion menu that replaced the wheel on smaller screens.

Inline editing

Inline editing allows you to see exactly what you’re designing. Create wheel screens on the fly right on your desktop or mobile device without having to preview.

SmartColor™

The wheel now automatically picks a different color for each individual slice based on your primary workspace color. This means your wheel will always look good!

If you don't want your colors picked for you, then don't worry, you can choose to make your wheel slices whatever colour you like.

Simple reorder

Reorder wheel slices from the advanced settings menu

New text editor

The wheel screen includes our beautiful new text editor. We will be rolling this out to the entire platform gradually as we include additional functionality.

Make sure to check out the wheel demo to see how it now works on all devices!

Updated WYSIWYG editor

Our WYSIWYG editor has just been updated with an improved UI that displays only the most frequently used options in the WYSIWYG toolbar.

To access additional options, we've created three new menus that group options into the following categories:

  • More paragraph options
  • More text options
  • More rich media options

Simply click the menu icons to reveal a row of additional options for that category.

Redesigned Video and Slideshow Screens

We've updated the Video and Slideshow Lesson screens in line with our recently released course style updates, providing your learners with a fresh, consistent experience.

Key changes include rounded corners, smoother transitions, and the introduction of a carousel to the slideshow template.

Go and check them out and let us know what you think!

Major Course Improvements for Learners

As promised we've just launched major updates to the way your learners experience courses in Coassemble.

Course navigation

By moving the floating course navigation from the bottom of the screen to the top of the screen we've been able to save valuable screen realestate making it more likely that your learners won't need to scroll to reveal course content.

To accomodate the improved navigation, your company branding, the learner profile, notifications, and announcements have been moved to the sidebar. If your workspace already has a custom favicon it will also appear in the sidebar.

The sidebar menu is now opened and closed from within the screen content container. This alleviates the problem where the menu button would obscure the contents of the menu.

Stylistic improvements

We've implemented a new design approach that threads through every module within a course. This provides a consistent experience, starting from the course overview, to every lesson template, and module.

You'll notice this new design as the friendly rounded corners on the buttons and cards, and a new capsule that contains all of the course content.

Lesson background colors

One of the most notable improvements is how your lesson screen background colours will be displayed. Lesson background colours will now appear behind the content. We wanted to retain the flexibility of making your lessons pop with blocks of colour but in a way that would allow you to retain the integrity of the information displayed to learners. Doing this opens up the possibility of introducing a dark mode for learners in the future, which we feel is important for accessibility.
