Suggested Search Results for Images

The Coassemble image uploader allows users to search Unsplash for beautiful, free images and photos to use in courses. To improve this experience, the uploader will now automatically display relevant images to the subject users are working on.

When adding an image to a lesson screen, you'll notice that the search results now display images related to the title of the screen you're adding the image to. For example, if you're working on a screen with a title of 'Dog training', Coassemble will automatically search for images relevant to dog training.

SmartColor™ Backgrounds for Image-Based Screens

As a course creator, you may really love the image based screen layouts, but sometimes find it really hard getting an image for every single item. If this sounds like you, then you'll be happy to hear that we've just released SmartColor™ support for all of the image based lesson screen templates. These include; Image click, Image plus, Side slide, Text pop, Icon hover, Showcase, and Tabs.

How do SmartColor™ backgrounds work?

When you add a new item on any of the aforementioned screens, a color will automatically be chosen to fill the background of the item. The color chosen will be based off your theme, meaning that if you don't use images, your screen will still look great, and conform with your workspace theme and brand.

Although we still recommend you add images to each item, the addition of background color extends the use-case for each of these screen types. What's more, when using transparent images like icons, instead of getting an ugly grey background, your transparent icons will pop with colors that match your brand.

If you don't like the colors the system has chosen for you, don't worry, you can change each individual color to be whatever you want.

Will this change my existing screens?

Unless your images are transparent, existing screens will look exactly the same because solid images will always cover the background fill.

Summary

  • By default, backgrounds will be filled with a color based off your theme.
  • The background color of each item can be changed individually with the color picker
  • Transparent images allow the background color to show through
  • Adding a solid image will hide the background color

Accordion Screen — More Options, New Name!

The Acronym screen has been relaunched as the Accordion screen!

Along with the new name comes a bunch of new options to make it more useful across a whole range of use cases.

New icon options

To expand the use cases for the Accordion screen, we’ve added a number of new icon options that are displayed next to the item title. Prior to this release, users were forced to use it for displaying the first letter of the title to form an acronym. With the new icon options, you can choose common open/close icons to create a classic accordion style menu, or select the number option to display content in an ordered list.

Inline editing

Inline editing allows you to see exactly what you’re designing, no matter what device you’re on — desktop or smartphone.

SmartColor™

SmartColor™ has been introduced for the Accordion screen to automatically pick a different color for each individual item based on your primary workspace color.

If you don't want to use smart color, don’t worry, you can change each individual button color to be whatever you like!

You can also resize the banner height, by clicking and dragging the banner up or down.

Fit and fill image options

Images added to the showcase screen items no longer need to be cropped. Just add an image, and it fills the allocated space. If you want to show the entire image, toggle the image fit option. This allows the image to be used for both the banner and the item card without compromising image quality.

⚠️ Important News! Share Pages to Be Retired

Before today, if you wanted to export SCORM, or create a Share URL you would need to go to the 'Share' page. As part of our latest release, we've added all of this functionality to the resource library. In light of this, we will soon be retiring the existing share pages.

You will notice when visiting the share page that we've added a banner notifying our users that the page will soon be retiring. We encourage you to start using the resource library to export SCORM or create share/previewing so that you can provide feedback before we remove the share page altogether.

How to export SCORM or create a share/preview link from the resource library

If you wanted to export a SCORM object, or create a share/preview link for one of your lessons, select the 'Lessons' tab from within the resource library. Find the lesson you'd like to share, and from the context menu select the 'Share lesson' option.

From the modal window that appears, you'll find options to create a Share link, or export a SCORM object.

Once you've shared a lesson or quiz, a little yellow share icon will appear next to the resource title indicating that the resource has been shared.
